Welcome Emily Liechty
New Executive Director
Oxford Seniors' Board of Trustees announces the hiring of Emily Liechty who begins the role of Executive Director on June 19th. After a two-week shadowing orientation period alongside current director Steve Schnabl, who retires June 30, Emily will step into this important role.
"The Board, staff, representatives of our membership and our search committee were impressed by Emily's vision and energy," stated Kate Rousmaniere, President of the Oxford Seniors board and Chair of the Search Committee.
"She expressed her life-long dream to be the executive director of an intergenerational community center which aligns with a major Oxford Seniors initiative." continued Rousmaniere.
"Emily seems like a perfect fit to continue the effectiveness and growth of Oxford Seniors. I look forward to passing her the baton," said Steve Schnabl.
Liechty, a longtime Oxford resident and College Corner native, is a licensed social worker. In May 2022, she earned her Master of Social Work from Miami University. Her social work internship at Kettering Health-Hamilton led to employment as a Care Manager.
In addition, Ms. Leichty has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from California College of the Fine Arts in San Francisco and an undergraduate degree in writing from Bard College in New York.
Previously, Ms. Liechty was lead secretary at Talawanda High School for three years. She is also an active volunteer with the local foodbank, Talawanda-Oxford Pantry and Social Services (TOPSS).
